Dr. Eliot Thompson

Dr Eliot Thompson was born in Nashville, Tennessee, and moved to Louisville, Kentucky at the age of 2.  He attended Ballard High School, where he was a drum major in the band, member of the National Honor Society and Beta Club, and a National Merit Scholar.  He also attended the very first Governor Scholar Program at Center College in 1983.  He did his undergraduate studies at the University of Louisville, where he majored in Biology and was on the Dean’s List.  He completed both medical school and his pediatric residency through the University of Louisville, and was on the Pediatric Transport Team for the last 2 years of his residency.  Dr Thompson is proud to announce, he was once a Third Grade Spelling Bee Champion, Math Student of the Year, and a member of the Black Diamond Choir.


Since the inception of One Pediatrics, Dr Thompson has served as a member of Finance, Benefits and Board Committees.  He currently serves as Vice President of the Board.  He enjoys the entire spectrum of pediatric medicine.  In addition to his pediatric patient population, he is a Class I Aviation Medical Examiner.  He is proud to be seeing multiple generations of the same families.


Dr Thompson has a beautiful wife, 3 healthy sons, and several perfect grandchildren.  Between patient visits, you can find him practicing his golf swing in the parking lot.  He enjoys shooting pool and playing several musical instruments.  In addition, he is the bassist of The Unlimited Show Band, with whom he has opened for Al Green, Frankie, Beverly and Maze, Boys II Men, Dougie Fresh, and En Vogue.
