Dr. Maurice "Al" Allgeier

Dr. Maurice “Al” Allgeier was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky.  He attended St Xavier High School, where he was class Salutatorian, and president of the National Honors Society and a national finalist for Speech and Debate.  He was a patient of Dr. Steve at South Louisville Pediatrics, following his victory over Childhood Leukemia.  He attended the University of Louisville for his undergraduate and medical school degrees, and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a major in Biology.  He completed his residency in pediatrics at Texas Children’s Hospital through Baylor College of Medicine, where he was a member of numerous committees.  Dr. Al shares his vast wealth of knowledge and experience as a preceptor for Physician Assistant Students through Sullivan University.  He was even awarded the Preceptor of the Year Award for his work in 2022-23.


Since the formation of One Pediatrics, Dr Al has been a member of the Vaccine, Finance, and Board Committees. He became Vice President of the Board, and took over the role of President when the original one stepped down for retirement, in 2020.  Dr. Al enjoys all areas of pediatrics, but find his work with ADHD patients to be particularly rewarding.  He is a proponent of lab testing and antibiotic stewardship, and has presented numerous national and global webinars on these subjects.


He has a genius, accountant for a wife, and two theatrically talented adult children.  He enjoys attending theater, from the small local performances to Broadway, and everything in between.  Dr Al has season tickets to the University of Louisville Women’s Basketball and Men’s Football teams.  He enjoys going boating on the Ohio River.  Dr Al is a certified Disney Fanatic, and has conducted Board Meetings while waiting in line for the Seven Dwarves Mine Train.
